Zuzu and Tootie's RV Trip to Maryland

Our St. Louis sejour was drawing to a close. It was time to repack the motorhome and head East to Maryland. During the packing and preparations, Zuzu found a comfortable spot in grandma's and grandpa's bedroom. A couple of pillows on the floor offered a soft spot, softer than the brand new carpet!
Tootie, however, found grandma's brand new slippers and thought they tasted quite nice! Perhaps she is missing grandma and considers this a sign of affection. Zuzu remained clear of the crime scene. Tootie, cozy on cousin Moses's bed, was hesitant to make eye contact, perhaps ignoring the shreds of evidence or me standing in the doorway to absolve her of any guilt.
Once packed, we jumped in the motorhome and headed east on I-64 towards Maryland. This was the first real motorhome trip for Zuzu and Tootie that will last two weeks. Below, we had pulled into a rest area for dinner. They ate and are awaiting the next move or adventure. They settled into the routine quite quickly.
Rarely would Zuzu or Tootie ride up front while going down the road. This was a rare occurrence to see Zuzu up front...I think it must have been the snack we had just ate that lured her from the rear of the coach to see what good eats she could have.
We stayed in a rest area in Kentucky, and the following day made our way towards West Virginia. Up and down, up and down, up and down the mountains we went finally approaching the welcome sign for Maryland. Another night in the truck parking of the welcome center, we arrived at Wayne's sister's and brother-in-law's before noon in Edgewater.
Wayne's nieces enjoy horseback riding and are very good at the sport. We spent Sunday morning at the stables to watch them ride. This was another new experience for Zuzu and Tootie. They were less apprehensive than we thought they would be meeting the horses.
Zuzu was curious about this huge pile of horse poop. Wonder if she thought it was from a humungous dog or knew that it came from those giant four legged creatures hanging around in the barn.
Outside, Zuzu and Tootie relaxed while the Madeline and Lauren exercised their horses before performing a few jumps.
Post ride, we thought Tootie would like to get up close and personal with Lauren's horse. The expression on Tootie and the horse says it all. Not to worry, we didn't leave her in the stable with the horse.
We left and headed back to the house. Our girls zonked out within minutes.
The next day, we went to a wonderful city park along the banks of one of the inlets from the Bay. Derby, Zuzu, and Tootie played for a bit in the dog park, which was understandably quiet for a Monday morning. Then we walked to the overlook. Zuzu and Tootie enjoyed the view. They love being up high to observe their surroundings. Zuzu noticed some boats heading out to the Bay and started barking and wanting chase them. She must miss the boats passing in Upper Sugarloaf Sound.

Back at the house, Zuzu and Tootie made themselves at home on one of the chairs on the sunporch. They are too much!
A little later, they retired to the living room to try out the good furniture. Sorry Chris and Tracy! We need to work on their manners.
